Jean asked:

"Empty is the argument of the philosopher which does not relieve any human suffering".

Would you please give the exact reference of this saying by Epicurus?

============

According to my copy of The Hellenistic Philosophers(A.A. Long & D.N. Sedley), the saying is quoted
by the 3rd century AD philosopher Porphyry. The reference is given as follows:

To Marcella [Ad Marcellam, A. Nauck, Teubner ed., Opuscula selecta,Leipzig [1886] 31
