Michael asked:

If as yet we have been unable to answer the question "Why are we here?" with any certainty, surely
the first thing to do is to work out why we are NOT here? It would seem logical that it is not to fight
over land, to create weapons of mass destruction, to allow fellow humans to live in dire poverty and
obscene conditions when other people stay in palaces. Surely it is better, at least more sensible, to
try to work together. So my question is this:

Why when we are destroying ourselves and our home do we continue instead of stopping and helping
each other as one race not as various races?

============

Becoming one race can be realized in at least 2 ways.

1. Everybody getting the same system of thought (like the U.S. tries in Iraq).

2. Making a nice cocktail of views, and cherishing every different thought.

Realize that a small percentage of terrorism is just caused by some people having a different view,
and not really being accepted. Should instead they stop fighting for their rights and disappear in the
silent masses?

As long as the dominant view behaves in a 'religious' (dogmatic) way there'll be so called terrorists.
And because often those 'deviant' people are quite intelligent they'll pose a threat. They are perfectly
willing to stop fighting and start fair negotiations, but generally don't get a real chance.

Seen as evolution, the powerful win and the others disappear. But now and then on earth there is a
ice age, otherwise still dinosaurs would be in power and use us humans as a snack.
