Margaret asked:

Wittgenstein wrote something along the lines of, "If we had never heard of the word love we might
never feel it." Can someone help me find the reference? Also... in the nominalist/ realist debate, is
Wittgenstein a nominalist?

============

If you spoke another language this would be easy to answer. Have you ever experienced an emotion
that you didn't have the words to explain? If we call an animal by the name we've giving it, does it
know who were calling? Does something come into existence by us naming it or does it already
exist?Did homo erectus feel love even though they didn't name it? In my opinion, even with the
English language there are still not enough words to describe the different kinds of love, so do they
exist?Yes.
